TERSEFANOU GOLF COURSE OPENING SHORTLY
Antonis Paschalides, Minister of Commerce, Industry & Tourism, stated that the new golf course in Tersefanou will commence operations shortly. This is a part of a broader plan to establish a total of 14 golf courses in Cyprus. He also points out that the 3 existing golf courses in Paphos are being upgraded; Minthis Hills, Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley.
“License applications are being processed. Many different licenses are required by various services and process is underway,” he said. The Ministry is encouraging the development of golf courses; however, some problems may arise regarding their location and water supply.
CTO Golf Tourism Coordinator, Maro Kazepi states that “the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) encourages the development of Golf Tourism, which is a special interest tourism product in line with the objectives of the Strategic Tourism Plan”. This year, Cyprus will host the PGC EuroPro Tour Final Championship which will be the first such professional golf event taking place on the island.
